Smarty – a single ecosystem: TV, VOD, archive, video surveillance and external applications

TV channels: live broadcast with full control
The basic functionality of any TV service - working with linear channels - is implemented in Smarty as flexibly as possible:
- support for both multicast and unicast streams;
- the possibility of setting a live broadcast on pause with the resumption of viewing;
- rewinding the ether (both forward and backward) with visual screenshots for navigation;
- integration with tv meters and advertising providers to insert targeted advertising;
- extended transmission program from different EPG providers with aggregation and source selection.
Video library from archived channel records
Archival recordings of channels turn into a full-fledged video library with rich meta-information:
- advanced metadata about films and tv series from different sources (genres, categories, actors, directors, year of release);
- flexible system of content selections according to various features (popular, novelties, recommended, genres);
- smart search with auto-addition and filtering in several parameters;
- detailed statistics of views - who, when and what watched.
Deep integration with online cinemas
Smarty provides seamless integration of content of partner online cinemas:
- automatic import of the content directory and complete meta-information;
- transparent synchronization with billing of cinemas for correct accounting of subscriptions and settlements;
- import markup of films and episodes of series - commercials and screensavers with the possibility of their skipping;
- mechanics "planned episodes" - reminders about the release of new series and automatically add them to the user's library;
- the mechanics of "free episodes" - providing limited access to the first series to engage subscribers.
Own internal video library of the operator
The operator can download its own content from any source, using the wide capabilities of the platform:
- open sources of metadata for automatic enrichment of films and series with descriptions, posters and frames;
- API-methods for automating content management – downloading, updating, removing through external systems;
- internal rating of films within the operator’s system along with the ratings of Kinopoisk and IMDB;
- integration with advertising providers to insert prerolls (before content) and pauserolls (at pause time).
Security cameras
The platform supports the output of video streams from surveillance cameras directly to the TV interface:
- as individual cameras - tied to a specific subscriber (yard, entrance, apartment);
- and public cameras (city intersections, views, weather).
The user switches between the cameras through the interface of the TV or mobile application, getting a single access point to all video streams.
Radio
Inside the platform, a section with radio stations is available – both built-in (integration with radio aggregators) and the operator’s own sources. The subscriber listens to the radio in the background, switching between stations through a user-friendly interface.
References to external annexes
Smarty allows you to place links to external applications and services in the interface: online cinemas without deep integration, weather services, games and any other web resources or third-party APKs. The subscriber does not leave the operator’s ecosystem, but gets access to the full range of digital entertainment.

All these types of content and services are collected in one Smarty application, with a single account, a single interface and common authorization and monetization mechanisms. The operator receives not disparate solutions for different tasks, but a single platform that scales with the business.
