Redmax interface for Smart TV - review and features

Redmax TV is one of the Smart TV application interfaces platform. The operator launches its own Internet TV service under its own brand. Below we will analyze the screens, how the interface is arranged and what it gives the operator and subscribers.

Main page of the application

One of the important tasks of the OTT service is the ability to impress the user in the first seconds of interaction with the quality and quantity of content. There are many mechanics for this, but one of the most popular is the creation of custom selections for every taste.

Global menu

Let’s take a closer look at the main menu. This important navigation element is available to the user from any screen of the service, except for the full-screen player.

Main elements:

• Company logo — is set through the Smarty admin and allows you to brand the application in seconds;
• Search – end-to-end search for all categories of video content available in the application;
• Television channels - section with a list of tv channels and tv programs;
• Cinema and Archives Sections identical in UX&UI, but one is responsible for VOD content, and the other forms a video library from archival records of TV channels;
• Chosen Access to selected content in the cinema;
• Services hiding access to sections Cameras and Radio;
• Settings - opens the user access to Personal office and the ability to customize the behavior of the application.

Channel section

The screen of the channel page focuses the user on the content that is currently on the air. Two clicks to the right — can be used in a classic TV program. Large fonts and posters of the program allow you to cover devices of any diagonals and users of all ages.

Section archive

As with any of our interfaces in the Archives section, the user will find several hundred units of daily updated content. A distinctive feature of this interface is the use of posters for archival records in 2:3 format, so that recorded content from TV channels is visually no different from cinemas.

Cinema section

The content of the cinema depends on the operator. It can be its own video library, integration with third-party online cinemas or a combination of them – the Smarty platform connects VOD content through an API. A movie or series card opens the description, posters and available series, and the Favorites section allows the subscriber to collect the content of interest in one place.

Cameras

In Redmax TV there is a section "Cameras" - a popular operator service that shows the subscriber the cameras of the city and the yard on the big screen. The section supports live broadcasts and archive records, and the service itself can become a separate source of income for the operator.

With the help of two-way integration of billing Smarty and billing operator, the latter gets the opportunity to add personal cameras subscriber in the TV service, if such a service is available and in demand among users of the service.

Section Settings

In the Personal Account, the subscriber sees his tariff plan, subscription composition and payment status, can change the tariff and manage services - without contacting the operator in support.
